the heart is sometimes a mystery
Posted by Ronald Kirk House in Poetry (Blog) on June 27, 2012
once upon a lonely night
I longed for love’s delight
when she opened herself up to me
she trapped me in a life of fantasy
I have to admit that I was scared
and don’t fully understand what we shared
maybe someday she will speak to me
for only she can explain this little mystery
she awaits

like a demon doll of desire
in her not so holy, tight attire
burning me with a blistering red fire
I fight against hell’s fury scorned
for my lost soul I weeped and mourned
although, truth be told I had been warned
until caught in her evil caress
all undone under emotional duress
left with a painful memory I fight to repress
Medusa selling snake oil from her hair
with me frozen stone cold by her stare
and fatally caught forever in her sinful snare
caught in the lesson of repeating history
she awaits, she awaits for me
that female mystery
She’s Gone
Posted by Ronald Kirk House in Songs (1982) on January 5, 2012

she’s gone, she’s gone
but exists in my mind
filling in the empty spaces in time
that I see, where she used to be
like a hole in my heart
like a ditch in the ground
I feel torn apart
and pushed around
by love, by love
is it live or is it memory?
is she where she appears to me to be?
or is this delusion
my reality
here and gone
as always she’s a mystery
she’s gone but exists in me
like a hole in my heart
like a ditch in the ground
I feel torn apart
and pushed around
by love, by love
like a hole in my heart
like a ditch in the ground
I feel torn apart
and pushed around
by love, by love
she’s gone, she’s gone, she’s gone

My Girl

walking down a lonely street
always hopin’ that I’ll meet
my girl, my girl, my girl
going thru my life alone
wanna call her on the telephone
my girl, my girl, my girl
she’s always a mystery
never knowin’ where she’ll be
my girl, my girl, my girl
she such a pretty sight
I’m flyin’ higher than a satellite
my girl, my girl, my girl
but you know I love her still
and you know I allways will
my girl, my girl, my girl

A New Leaf
Posted by Ronald Kirk House in Songs (1984) on October 18, 2011
I’m goin’ to turn over a new leaf
I’m gonna let a new day shine
and the light will shine for me
and then the light will shine on me
I’m gonna break away from the past
I’m gonna make the future last (fast)
and then the hope will finally be
and what I hope I’ll find is me
but it’s so hard to break free
when the past is all you can see
and the future is just a mystery
