Angel

Girl With Tribal Wings

I saw my angel
standing over me
I saw my angel
but she didn’t see me

I felt her glowing
I watched her fly
I left her knowing
I was going to die

I saw my angel
and she is so sweet
I saw her halo
but she didn’t see me

angel, oh my angel
angel, oh my angel

angel, I love you
oh my angel
but you make me so blue
angel, why don’t you notice me?
oh my angel
end my misery

angel, oh my angel
angel, oh my angel

it’s heaven in your eyes
and heaven in your sighs
it’s heaven in your arms
and heaven in your lies

come into paradise
but only for a price

The tape says this was inspired by Evangeline Lee. I think that was a girl that I knew one semester as a co-op student. I don’t remember if she was somebody’s assistant or a secretary or what. I’m pretty sure I never said anything more than “Hi” to her. I can’t remember her face now, but I remember that she had long lovely hair with lots of waves.
