Poor little kitty named Boo

Boo RelaxingI got an email today from some poor confused girl, named Adriana, who needs help moving and has a cat named Boo. The email was in my spam folder, but I thought that must be a mistake. I usually review the spam folder periodically for mistakes. According to her email, Adriana seemingly has me confused with some lost facebook pal.  She has trouble with her love life, her laptop and her typing skills. Isn’t that just too tragic? What kind of gentleman would I be if I didn’t at least try to help the poor confused girl and her little kitty Boo out?

Here’s the first part of the email that I got (with minor edits for language):

BABE... i guess your not getting any of my email huh? ive been

garbage and keeps freezing.. anyways how u been? In case u dont know

drinks, restaurants, movies etc.. travel.. i have a lil kitty named
BOO and i luv her to death.

I was feeling so sorry for her and I was tempted to send an email to her right away, so that the poor girl would know that she had the wrong email for her non-responsive friend.  After all, she was going to be moving soon. Well, she almost had me until she got around to describing her current career later in the email.  She sent her mysterious lost friend a free VIP pass to her online show. So, it turns out to be another spam.  love bug bites again.  Is there no end to the depths that spammers and their scams will go to?  The email gets a little graphic so I won’t show the rest of the spam email.   What a world we live in and what will happen to poor little Boo?

Excuse me while I go and hug my daughter’s kitty.

Update Note! Just to be clear, if you got an email like this one, it is a scam. I recommend that you ignore it and delete it.

It gets better. As I’m googling to check up on this email I read about a woman that found the same spam email on her boyfriends computer and now she worries that he is cheating on her again. She is so upset she doesn’t know where to go for help.

Of course spammers don’t care about the possible real-life consequences for their lies and deceptions in their efforts to scam us. The spam may not be real, but the people that get it are. Not sure about Boo, though.

you should help her move in and acquaint her with the neighborhood – where to get the morning coffee and how to have newspaper subscription, i guess. it’s the little mundane details that usually strain a person’s nerves. you gotta help her, i say. and yes, where’s the nearest corner to get some cat food for Boo. you were a boy scout, a long way back, huh? 😉

This is both hilarious and sad – and you make such a good point about what these spammers are trying to gain – What are they getting out of such a waste of time anyway? Great post!

I agree with Shelia… Those Spammers are such a waste of shelf life… even more so than the fake meat in a can! I want to write them back and ask why they waste their time but then I would be wasting mine…
Good post. You kept me to the end! 😉

I get several of those every week from “Adriana”. I’d love to tell “her” that I’m a married straight female and totally not interested and she must have me confused with someone with a penis, but for some reason “her” email addresses keep getting disabled before I can. Poor, poor Adriana. :/
