I always used to quote lessons to my children
from an old Indiana TV show that they have never seen
bits of wit and wisdom from Cowboy Bob and his dog tumbleweed
in between cartoons and a silly singing biscuit that I loved as a pre-teen

one of Cowboy Bob’s favorites was to quote an old saying
“if you don’t have something good to say, don’t say anything at all”
and perhaps now I should also learn to follow that sage advice
still it always sounded so much better with just a little bit o cowboy drawl

If you go up to either of my kids and say “Cowboy Bob always says…” I’m betting they will both finish the quote with this old saying. Kinda funny since they really have no idea who Cowboy Bob is other than repeated lessons from their old Dad.
