not that man from Monaco

Monaco 3

Monaco 3 (Photo credit: davharuk)

she’s looking for some man from Monaco
some handsome lad who gave her a smile and some thrills
perhaps, just one brief moment, before heading for the hills

she begs me to tell her that I am the one she seeks
for she is breathless and confused and just can’t sleep
unfortunately, I have nothing to say, except that I count sheep

now, I suspect that English is not her first language
and so, my blog post about an ecard that I got from a spammer
must have her confused and somehow hoping for some glimmer

I’m sorry pretty lady, but I’m just not that man from Monaco
and I didn’t send any anonymous love note ecard to you in an email
it looks like love has someone headed for another epic fail

I used to have a funny blog entry about an ecard spam that I got in the email. However, I’ve been getting a lot of notes on facebook from someone that seems confused and thinks I sent the ecard to her. I tried to explain it to her, but she doesn’t seem to understand. She’s in Europe someplace, so it seems likely that English isn’t her first language. So I can forgive and understand that. Still, she kept sending me notes on facebook. So, I’ve deactivated my facebook and I deleted the post from this blog since it wasn’t important to me. Will this poem make the situation clear or worse? Am I being too harsh and cold on this confused person? Stay tuned for more drama.

Thanks. All quiet on the western front, so far.

Good to see you back, brother warrior! (I suppose you laid down your sword for a while to take a well deserved rest against a lonely tree. But now you’re back in shining armor, mean, lean and spirited!

That’s me. My sword at my side. Resting under a lonely tree. Gazing up at the stars and contemplating the universe.

No flying dragons in sight, but beware, brother! Have a great weekend! 🙂

I adore this with all of my being.

        Wow. A parallel soul.

I apologise for all the troubles I’ve caused through facebook.
    I should say thank you.
You opened my mind and eyes for someone that gives me a bit of thrill and a melting smille.
I tried to count sheep but unfortunally it doesn’t work, because there are no sheep where I live.

    However thanks for the tip.
I’m sorry but if you were a gentleman you shouldn’t have posted our conversations on your blog.
Too bad for a lady that believes everything from love ecards, that actually was a scam.
    C’est la vita!… 🙂

What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger.
I’ll never read your blog again therefore there won’t be anymore drama 😉
By the way, I’m from the UK, just saying….

No need to apologize Cristina. At my stage in life, a little drama never hurt anyone. I kinda wish I was the man from Monaco and that a woman as beautiful as you was looking for me, too.

I’m sorry if you felt that it was ungentlemanly for me to write a poem about this, but that is what I do. That is what this blog is all about. I was careful not to mention your name or any specifics, of course. And I hoped that you would read this poem and understand that I got the same ecard that you got. In fact, from the hits on my blog hundreds of people every few weeks get the same ecard. I have deleted the post about it and I still get dozens of hits to this blog each day about people googling “lovebug1136”. It is a sad scam that takes advantage of lonely people.

Sadly it seems that not all sweet hearts will get rich before they depart these days.

Depends on one’s definition of “rich”, no?

          LOL, yes.
