Pezband was an Illinois power pop band. I first heard this great power pop song on the cool compilation “DIY: American Power Pop: Come Out and Play”.
Baby It’s Cold Outside
Highly recommended.

Adam Schmitt is a power pop singer/songwriter musician/engineer/producer from Illinois.
I was first introduced to Adam from his song ‘Speed Kills’ on the compilation album, ‘Yellow Pills – The Best Of American Pop! Volume 1’ released in 1993.
Speed Kills
These next two songs are from his great first album, ‘World So Bright’ released in 1991.
Remembered Sun
My Killer

Shoes

The Shoes are the prototypical power pop band. Guitars. Guitars. Guitars. Sweet melodies with harmonies and a strong beat. This Illinois band recorded their first album in their living room using a four track reel-to-reel tape machine. They went on to build their own recording company and studio.
Here is a sample of the lyrics from ‘Too Late’.
Every time I see you
I wish I could believe you
Do you ever mean a thing you sayYou lied, I tried to overlook your careless way of love
And when you call I never turned you down
Shoes
Here is a sample of the lyrics from ‘Tomorrow Night’
I can’t show what I feel
Do you know what I mean?
I get restless inside every night
Shoes
Tore a Hole
Highly recommended. Don’t wait til tomorrow to listen to these guys, that could be too late.
