hidden hot springs in my heart
Posted by Ronald Kirk House in Poetry (Blog) on October 29, 2012
memories of my love all wrapped up
in silky ribbons and bows
with all of her smooth edges and curves
inspiring my efforts at poetry and prose
the melodic sound of her voice once echoed
in my heart like a romantic symphony
stirring deep felt desires and yearnings
of a world full of infinite possibility
these are the kinds of true feelings
that never really go away
like a hidden hot spring in my heart
they slowly bubble to the surface still to this day
Quiet, My Lonely Heart

quiet, my lonely heart
don’t talk to me this way
I dream about her
think about her
how I want her
how I need her
dream about her
think about her
be still my yearning heart
you know she’s gone away
I dream about her
think about her
how I want her
how I need her
dream about her
think about her
quiet, my lonely heart
don’t talk to me this way
I dream about her
think about her
how I want her
how I need her
dream about her
think about her
be still my yearning heart
you know she’s gone away
I dream about her
think about her
how I want her
how I need her
dream about her
think about her

just out of reach
Posted by Ronald Kirk House in Poetry on September 28, 2011
I noticed some speckled rocks on the shore
as bells in the distance rang out an unfamiliar tune
that disturbed an unfinished symphony I was thinking of
like a pebble thrown into a still pond
while unsuccessfully fishing on a lazy summer afternoon
with restless leaves in the nearby trees
moving like the hands of a child
reaching for an object just out of reach
